"Benjamin P. Jett's Will Know all men by these presents that I,
Benjamin Pendleton Jett of the County of Hempstead and State of
Arkansas being in good health and of sound and disposing mind and
memory do make and publish this my last will and Testament, hereby
revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. First, I
do constitute and appoint my beloved wife Hester Jett my sole Executrix
of this my last Will and Testament, directing my said Executrix to pay
all my just debts and funeral expenses and the Legacies hereinafter
given out of my Estate. Second, I give to my said Executrix all my
household furniture and wearing apparel for her own use. Third, I
devise to my said Executrix all the rest and residue of my Estate
whether Real, Personal or Mixed, as long as she shall remain unmarried
and my widow, with remainder thereof, on her decease or marriage, to my
children Edward D., Benjamin P. Jr, Rosena V., Abraham B, Emma P, &
Mary R. Jett, and their heirs, respectively?, share and share alike,
directing that during their minority that they shall be educated to the
full extent of the means which I shall leave, so far as may be
necessary to make them useful and intelligent beings. In testimony
Whereof, I hereunto set my hand and seal and publish and declare this
to be my last will and Testament, in the presence of the witnesses
named below this 12th day of March A.D. 1846. Benj. P. Jett (seal)
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Benjamin P. Jett as
and for his last Will and Testament, in presence of us who in his
presence and in the presence of each other and at his request have
subscribed our names as witnesses hereto: S.T. Sanders James P. Jett"
