State of Ark Hempstead County Jan. the 4th 1855 I Ferebe Thomas beleving I must die wish now while in common health and in my propper mind and memory to make this my last will and testament in the following manner (viz) 1st I command my soul to God who gave it and my boddy to the grave. 2nd I wish all my debts if any to be paid 3rd my wish will and desire is that my son Francis M Thomas is to have the boy Harrison to him and his hers forever 4th I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret E. McCown the sum of two hundred dollars to her and her heirs forever 5th I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ann Loftis the sum of five dollars to her and her Children forever. 6th I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha H Loftis the some of five dollars to her and her heirs forever 7th I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah M. Black burn the sum of five dollars to her and her heirs forever. 8th I give and bequeath to the heirs of my daughter Jane B. Austin the sum of five dollars each to them and thar heirs forever. 9th all the balance of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided between my three sons Robert P. Thomas A D Thomas Frances M Thomas and my daug hter Margaret E. McCown. 10th my further wish will and desire is that my son- Frances M. Thomas have Jim and Faney his wife estimated by me at five hundre dollars each and [page 2] all my interest in the tract of land I now live on estimated by me at eleven hundred and fifty dollar-- and that he the Said Frances M. Thomas have four years time to pay the other legatees thare proportion able part of the above discribed property and do appoint my son Frances M. Thomas as my Executor to this my last will and Testament & Testamony where unto I hearby have sit my hand a affixed my seal the day and year above written. attest Ferebe thomas W.W. Vaughn Frances M. Thomas Simeon McCown The State Arkansas County of Hempstead In the Hempstead Court of Probate July Term July 10th A.D. 1855 Be it remembred that on this day personally appeared in open Court William W. Vaughn and Simeon McCown two of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing paper containing a will of Ferebe Thomas deceased and they being first duly sworn depose and say that on the 4th day of January A.D. 1855 the said Ferebe Thomas acknow- ledged that she had subscribed her name at the End of said paper writing a Will in the presence of them the said William W. Vaughn and Simeon McCown attesting witnesses, and that the [page 3] said Ferebe Thomas at the time of making such acknowledgement declared the same to be her last Will and Testament that they the said Vaughn and McCown at the same time signed their names as witnesses thereto at the request of the testate and that the said Ferebe Thomas at the time of making such acknowledgement am declaring the said paper writing or will to be her last Will and Testament was of sound and disposing mind and memory; So Help us God W.W. Vaughn Simeon McCown In Testimony that the foregoing deposition of Williamson W. Vaughn and Simeon Mc Cown was made and Subscribed in open Court, I Simon T.
