All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Hugh Austin Dyer Jan 20, 1997 Malvern Dailey Record Hugh Austin Dyer Sr. Hugh Austin Dyer Sr., 85, of Malvern died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at HSC Medical Center in Malvern. He was born April 1, 1911, in Malvern to Henrietta Belle Shockey Dyer and Walter Wesley Dyer. He was a retired forman for National Lead at Magnet Cove where he was employed for 30 years. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of CCC. He was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Max Dyer; and three sisters, Dorothea Bauman, Lenora Hill and Doris Potter. He was married Dec. 18, 1937, to the former Alice Stacey. Survivors include his wife, Alice S. Dyer of Malvern; two sons, Wesley Dyer of Malvern and Hugh Austin Dyer Jr. Of Grand Prairie, Texas; two daughters, Ellen Conley of Muskogee, Okla., and Faye Cozzi of Paradise, Calif.; three sisters, Laura Belle Otts, Leora Cates and Neva Stacy, all of Malvern; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 22, 10 a.m., at Atkinson Funeral Home chapel with pastor Martin Shane officiating. Burial will be in Cooper Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 21, 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
