All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** THE MALVERN DAILY RECORDS Malvern, Hot Springs County, Arkansas June 27, 1996 DAHLIA DAVIS HOOPER Dahlia Davis Hooper, 69, of Malvern, died June 26, 1996, at home. Born Nov. 26, 1926, 1926, to the late James Wahington Davis and Ninnie Scott Davis, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lonnie, Vernon, Virgil and Grady Davis, and one sister, Birtha Cobb. Hooper was a wife, homemaker and active church and community worker. She became a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church in 1967, where she served in various positions of leadership and responsibility. She was a member of the Priscilla Sunday School Class, treaurer of United Methodist Women, chairperson of the church's committee on Social Concerns, a member of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee and a member of the Quilter's Club at Keith. She served her community well, visiting nursing homes, the sick and shut-ins. Her service was laced with dedication, kindness and love. Whe will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband, M.L. "Pete" Hooper; two sons, Morris and Randy Hooper, both of Malvern; two daughters, Alta Day of Redfield, and Pat Mathis of Little Rock; two sisters, Bonnie Adair of California, and Hazel Hughes of Judsonia; one brother, Joe Davis of Mississippi; seven grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, June 28, at the Atkinson Funeral Home Capel at 10 a.m. with Rev. David Smith officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and the Methodist Men's Bible Class as honorary pallbearers. Burial will be at the Rockport Cemetery. Visitation will be today, June 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Atkinson Funeral Home. The family will be in the fellowship hall of Keith Church.
