She was a member of the Bryant United Methodist Church and was a school teacher with the Bryant School District. She earned her master's degreefrom the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and was a member of various education associations. Survivors include her husband Henry McClure; three daughters, Sheila Poarch of Bastrop, La., Peggy Carroll of Dallas, Texas, and Paula Middleton of Bryant; one son, Todd Carroll of Phoenix, Ariz.; her mother, Eva Marie Pickens of Star CIty; two step=daughters, Landa Morgan of Sheridan, and Susan Padgett of Maumell; two brothers, Ronald Pickens of Conway and Wyatt Pickens of Star City; one sister, Sandra Rowe of Star City; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27, 10 a.m. at the Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton with Rev. Bud Reeves officiation. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Leeks Cemetery in Star City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Hopice, 11900 Colonel Glenn Road, in Little Rock, Ark. 72210, or a favorite charity. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Tuesday, 6-8 p.m.
