RAYMOND LEROY PETTY Raymond Leroy Petty, 73, of Malvern died Wednesday Aug. 20, 1997, at his home. He was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Malvern to the late Roy and Carrie Moore Petty. He was retared form the Maintenance Department of Precision Industries, a World War II medic in the U>S> Army, a member of the American Legion Post #1 and a member of the First Baptist Church of Malvern. He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Lee. Survivors include his wife, Mary Pye Petty; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Cindy Petty of Ventura, Calif., and Rodney and Cathy Petty of Malvern; one daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Bobby Otts of Malvern; one brother, James Petty of Malvern; one sister, Frances Wheat of Malvern; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 23, 10 a.m., in the chapel of Atkinson Funeral Home with Rev. Verne Wickliffe. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Pye, Ed Green, John Green, Jim Green, Rod Crocker and Maurice Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers are Doc Clem, Clyde Eason, Myrl Majors, George Bengoa, Jim Yarbero and the staff of Hot Spring County Home Health and Hot Spring County Hospice. Memorials may be made to the Raymond Lee Petty Memorial Field House of Glen Rose. The family will receive visitors at home.
