ROBERT EDWARD SLOAN

     Robert Edward Sloan, 79, of Malvern died July 3, 1996, at
Arkansas Health Care in Hot Springs.  Born April 1, 1917, in Lonsdale
to James Robert and Laura Frances Riggs Sloan, he was retired from the
Upholstery business and a member of the North Main Church of Christ.
     Survivors include his wife Alice Sloan of Malvern;  one sister,
Lucille Anderson of Malvern;  and several nieces and nephews.
     Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, 1996,
at the Rockport Memorial Gardens with Ed Simmons officiating.  Burial
will follow under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home.  Visitation
will be Thursday, July 4, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
