They were buried in Macedionia cemetery in the same grave, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. J. A. Harp. Batesville Guard, January 26, 1943 Independence County, Arkansas or Jackson County Mrs. Martha Headley Former Batesville Resident Dies Near Newport Mrs. Martha Headley, 75, of near Newport died Saturday night at her home. Mrs. Headley was born at Batesville in 1867. She is survived by six half-brothers. Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at Hickory Grove cemetery by the Rev. Walter Ivie. Interment was in Hickory Grove with the Newport Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Batesville Guard, June 20, 1945 Independence County, Arkansas Mrs. Myrtle H. McCormack Dies Here Last Night Mrs. Myrtle Handford McCormack, aged 72, of Batesville, died in a local hospital at 11:45 last night after a lingering illness. She was the wife of the late J. E. McCormack, who was a wellknown abstract man here. Mrs. McCormack moved to Batesville with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Handford, when a child. She was prominent in church and civic affairs of the city and was a member of the First Methodist church. Surviving are three brothers, Stanley and W. H. Handford, both of Batesville and Jack Handford of Piedmont, Mo. Funeral services will be conducted at the family residence at 658 East Boswell St., at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow by the Rev. H. Lynn Wade, pastor of the First Methodist church. Interment will be in Oaklawn cemetery. Crouch funeral home is directing arrangements. Sheh was removed to the hospital several days ago when her condition became critical. Born in Tennessee July 23, 1875, Mrs. Brown moved to Newport when she was a child. She was the widow of the late W. N. Brown. Mrs. Brown was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and was active in work of that organization. Survivors include four sons, Clifton Brown, Newport; Oliver Brown, Grubbs; Herbert Brown, Olyphant; and Price Brown of South Carolina; five daughters, Mrs. Agness Epperson of Olyphant; Mrs. Minnie Thomas of Indiana; Mrs. Grace Taylor of Michigan; Mrs. Bertha Mayhue of Tuckerman, and Miss Coleda Brown of the home and several grandchildren.
