White River Current

Oscar Ray Burgess, 82, of Calico Rock died March 7 at the Calico Rock Medical 
Center.
Funeral services were held March 9, at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Calico 
Rock with Brother Ralph Wallace of Batesville officiating. Burial was at 
Spring Creek Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: James Porterfield, Charles Townsend, Denny Copeland, Carl 
Russell, Loyd Lively and Walter Boyd.
Survivors include his wife of the home, three sons, Noel Burgess, Johnny 
Burgess and Jimmy Burgess, all of Calico Rock; four daughters, Mrs. Maxine 
Lynn of Iuka, Mrs. Opal Gillihan of Melbourne, MrS. Melba Gillihan and Mrs. 
Marilyn Smith, both of Calico Rock; a sister, Mrs. Rita Lawrence of Calico 
Rock, 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and one son, 
Alvin Burgess.
