(* before an entry suggests that this entry made have errors and will need to be rechecked against the originals.) ************************************************************************ "JACKSONPORT CEMETERY by James Logan Morgan" "In the 1840's, a cemetery was established at Jacksonport. It is located [on] a slight hill in the east end of town, about a hundred feet north of Arkansas Highway 69. It is overgrown. When this inventory was prepared in 1964, three stones were located, two upright and one broken in two pieces. There was evidence of other burials, and there were probably more stones at one time, although few of the 'old Jacksonport families' used this cemetery because of the low eleveation of the area, making it susceptible to flooding."
