Section G, Walnut Grove Cemetery, Jackson Co., Arkansas (2003 inventory) Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Rita Grigsby. *********************************************************************** USGENWEB ARCHIVES(tm) NOTICE Copyright (c) 2003 Rita Grigsby. All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************************** Directions: Walnut Grove Cemetery is located in Newport on the west side of Magnolia Street, 4 blocks north of the intersection of Arkansas Highway 367 and Magnolia Street. Inventory completed August 2003 by Rita Grigsby. Jackson County, Arkansas USGenWeb Archives table of contents: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ar/jackson/jackson.html *********************************************************************** Walnut Grove Cemetery, Newport, Arkansas, Section G After reaching Walnut Grove Cemetery, proceed along Magnolia (aka Lockwood) Street to the intersection where Daugherty turns to the right. Section G begins at an imaginary line extending from the north side of Daugherty Street, through the big tree, to where the white cemetery fence running north and south turns west, & includes all stones west of top part of circle drive that encloses Section H. Section G contains Blocks 1, 2, 7, 8, 9 & 10 of the Second Addition, as well as most of Block 1 of the Third Addition to Walnut Grove Cemetery, although there are a few stones geographically located in this section that obviously belong to the era of the original part of the cemetery: ABOUT MY INVENTORY of Section G: I have numbered my rows, beginning at Magnolia Street (aka Lockwood Drive) and continuing west. I have read the stones from south to north, or from left to right as you are facing the inscriptions. I have abbreviated World War as WW and used the numbers 1 & 2, instead of Roman Numerals I & II, regardless of how the stones read. I have also tried to make it clear whether I was looking at a headstone or a footstone. Many people, mostly men, have information on both a headstone and footstone, and in those cases, I have taken the primary information from the headstone, and only included additional or different information provided on the footstone, & not repeating identical information. [Birthdates and other vital information of those individuals suspected to be living have been removed from this inventory, as well as lists of children and grandchildren.] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- **** Section G, 1st row west of Magnolia **** Kensinger, Fred D.
