Section H, Walnut Grove Cemetery, Jackson Co., Arkansas (2003 inventory) Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Rita Grigsby. *********************************************************************** USGENWEB ARCHIVES(tm) NOTICE Copyright (c) 2003 Rita Grigsby. All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************************** Directions: Walnut Grove Cemetery is located in Newport on the west side of Magnolia Street, 4 blocks north of the intersection of Arkansas Highway 367 and Magnolia Street. Inventory completed August 2003 by Rita Grigsby. Jackson County, Arkansas USGenWeb Archives table of contents: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ar/jackson/jackson.html *********************************************************************** Walnut Grove Cemetery, Newport, Arkansas, Section H After reaching Walnut Grove Cemetery, proceed north alongside the cemetery on Magnolia, past Daugherty Drive to the right. The next path into the cemetery after that intersection turns west, then north, then east to rejoin Magnolia, forming a circle drive. The portion of the cemetery inside this circle drive I have designated as Section H. The inventory begins at Magnolia, and at the south side of the rows, proceeding left to right. ABOUT MY INVENTORY of Section H: I have numbered my rows, beginning at Magnolia Street (aka Lockwood Drive) and continuing west. I have read the stones from south to north, or from left to right as you are facing the inscriptions. I have abbreviated World War as WW and used the numbers 1 & 2, instead of Roman Numerals I & II, regardless of how the stones read. I have also tried to make it clear whether I was looking at a headstone or a footstone. Many people, mostly men, have information on both a headstone and footstone, and in those cases, I have taken the primary information from the headstone, and only included additional or different information provided on the footstone, & not repeating identical information. [Birthdates and other vital information of those individuals suspected to be living have been removed from this inventory, as well as lists of children and grandchildren.] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- **** Section H, 1st Row (of 24), west of Magnolia **** Ritter, Leon (5-7-1946 to 12-17-2001) [also Jackson's Funeral Homes marker] & Ritter, Betty Gean [living] Glover, Charles L.
