Bilious Fever: Relapsing fever from typhoid, malaria or hepatitis. Congestive Chill: Malaria usually transmitted by the bite of a mosquito or malaria with diarrhea. Consumption: Tuberculosis which results in wasting of the tissues of the body. Cramp Colic: Spasms in the abdomen, crying and irritability. Croup: Childhood illness with difficult and noisy respiration and a hoarse cough; laryngitis, diphtheria or Strep throat. Debility: Weakness. Dropsy: Edema (swelling) often caused by kidney or heart disease. Dysentery: Frequent, watery, bloody stools with pain, fever, and dehydration. Erysipelas: Acute, skin disease caused with hot, red, swollen skin lesions usually accompanied by severe weight loss. Flux: Excessive hemorrhage or diarrhea. Hictic (Hectic) Fever: Fever associated with tuberculosis or septic poisoning. Hives: Eruption of wheals due to an allergic reaction. Palsy: Paralysis of muscles. Putrid Sore Throat: Decomposition or rotting Rheumatism: Rheumatic fever with pain of the musculoskeletal system. Scarlet Fever: Marked by fever and an eruption of red color of the face and membranes of the mouth. Scrofulas: Tuberculosis in the glands of the neck resulting in slow abscess of the glands. Sun Stroke: Heatstroke from exposure to the sun but often without having fever Teathing (Teething): Infections of the teeth. Typhoid Fever: An acute infectious disease with continuous fever, skin eruptions, and diarrhea. Whooping Cough: An acute infection of the throat with severe coughing which ends with a noisy inspiratory spasm. Winter Fever: Pneumonia. Yellow Jaundice: A yellowish color to the skin and deeper tissues from liver problems.
