She was a homemaker and of the Methodist Belief. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Wesley Lucas; three daughters, four sons, three grandsons, three great-grandsons, three brothers and a sister. Survivors include two sons, Bobby Lucas of Tuckerman, and Cecil "Wayne" Lucas of South Bend, Ind.; five daughters, Lula Mae Lawson of Newport, Jeannie Wiles of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Bonnie Jones and Dorothy Criss, both of Tuckerman, and Lucy "Dustye" Rees of Mountain Home; two sisters, Dora Johnson of Flora, and Lily Huff of Pleasant Plains; 43 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 at the Jackson's Newport Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Macks Chapel Cemetery in Sulpher Rock. Great-Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 in the afternoon until 9 in the evening at the funeral home. [Genealogy notes: She was buried next to her husband, Harvey. Her name was Alma Bessie but was known as Bessie. I am her granddaughter, Alma Jones Luper. Daughter of Lesley Thomas and Bonnie Pauline "Polly" Jones.
