John Franklin Safirt
September 6, 1873-June 25, 1951
  John Franklin Safirt, aged 77, of Grubbs Arkansas passed away Monday 
June 25 at 4:40 p.m.  at the Newport Hospital.
  Survivors include his wife Mrs. Callie Diana Winford-Safirt; one son
Orthaniel Safirt of Grubbs Arkansas and one brother George Safirt also 
of Grubbs Arkansas.
  Mr. Safirt, who was born September 6, 1873 in Illinois, was a member 
of the Methodist Church.
  Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 at Ballow’s Chapel 
with the Reverend Walter Ivie officiating.
  Pallbearers were Joe Edwards, W.N. McCoy, Virgil Odgen, Henry Doyle, 
Earl Clark and Joe Woodruff.
