Stegall Prominent citizen of Grubbs died Tues. morning as a result of internal injuries. Pearl Perry Stegall, aged 56 years, a prominent farmer, timber man, and exemplary citizen died, at 6:30 Tues. morning July 25 at his home near Grubbs, as a result of inflamation of internal injuries suffered in a sawmill accident, Monday, July 17. He had improved rapidly from the shock and appeared to be recovering, when a turn for the worse came about 11 o'clock Saturday night and he sank steadily, from that hour. Burial at Parrott Graveyard near Tuckerman, Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was a native of Jackson County and was a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellows Lodges and he was in the highest esteem wherever he was known. He was a member of the Baptist Church and ever a most consistent christian. In his home he was dearly beloved by his wife and 3 children , Milzie, Pearl, and Mrs. Cora Carter and to them is extended the heartfelt sympathy of many friends. *** July 1911 Condition regarded serious, Perry P. Stegall, a good citizen of near Grubbs, is reported to be in serious condition as the results of his injuries. Dr. Oscar Jones, who dressed his wounds went to see him again Tuesday. Mr. Stegall was hurt Monday in his sawmill, when a pulley flew to pieces, One stick of wood striking him in the side of a hip? and lapping back to a point on the opposite shoulder.
