USSERY, 82 ROCHELLE - Louis C. Ussery, 82, of Rochelle passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, in his home with his family by his side. Born Jan. 5, 1927, in Grubbs, Ark., the son of James A. and Mary E. (Townsley) Ussery. He married Wanda F. Linton on Nov. 30, 1948, in Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rochelle and served in the Navy during World War II. He worked at Greenlee Brothers as a machinist for 34 years. Survived by wife, Wanda; daughters, Wanda (Terry) Austin of Rochelle, Beverly (Layne) Holley of Bartonville, Cathy Lowery of Rochelle and Karen (Clem) McCandless of Rochelle; son, Jeffery Ussery of Mexico; brother, Nolan Ussery of Paragould , Ark.; sister, Ivaughn Simpson of Paragould ; and sister-in-law, Betty Ussery of Memphis, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents, two brothers and two sisters. Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, in First Baptist Church, 810 Woolf Court, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.; the Rev. Doug Cowan will officiate. Memorials to Ogle County Hospice or First Baptist Church. Burial in Trinity Memory Gardens.
