She completed the forms and stated that she was the widow of Joseph Alverson who had served in Company G Arkansas 22nd Infantry from 1862 until 1865. Appearing as witnesses for Frances were her daughter Effie Wallace and her son in law W. C. Myers. Also submitted to the board was a letter written by the commanding officer at the time that Joseph Alverson was mustered out of the service. " W.H.H. Shibley states on oath that he is ninety years of age and at present a resident of Clarksville and has been since December 12, 1929 and was a resident of Van Buren from 186?until he came to Clarksville and that he was a soldier in the war between the states in Co. G 22nd Arkansas regiment of infantry and held the rank of 2nd and 1st Lieutenent and was commanding the Co. when it was mustered out in Ft. Smith in 1865.
