All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Amanda Isabelle "Belle" (Flannery) Riggs, 92 of Hoxie, Arkansas died at Walnut Ridge Lawrence Memorial Hospital Wednesday May 15, 1968. She was born Jan 4, 1876 in Missouri and had lived near Hoxie for 52 years. She was a housewife and the widow of Sanford U. Riggs, who died in 1952. She was a member of the Pentecostal church. Surviving are her seven son’s, Sanford and Elzie both of Hoxie, Tee, Ted, and Gay all of Walnut Ridge, Barley of Blytheville and Logan Riggs of Cave City; three daughters, Velva (Riggs) St. John of Cave City, Elsie Riggs of Batesville, and Grace (Riggs) Hutsell of Rockford, IL; one sister Mrs. Virgie Rose of Pocahontas; 56 grandchildren, 144 great-grand-children and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by children Iva, Darkas, Anna, and Ora; parents Thomas J. Flannery and Rachel Taylor Flannery. Services were held at Sutton Free Will Baptist Church Sunday May 19, 1968 with the Rev. Lehman Rorex and Rev. Benny Ruth officiating, Burial in Sutton Cemetery. Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge was in charge.
