He died December 9, 1899 in Feeneyville, a little village near Star City, Arkansas. He is buried in Heflin Cemetery, Star City. Emanuel married Edney M. Geno, a daughter of Francis and Mary Geno. There was one son born to this union. He was William Edward Mullikin, born June 13, 1866 in Anderson, South Carolina. Edney had been previously married to George Feagen, and had a son, Thomas Jefferson Feagen. When George died, she married Emanuel. After the death of Edney, Emanuel was remarried to Margarette Elizabeth Morgan, who was also born in South Carolina, in 1868. Since there were no more living relatives, Emanuel and Margarette kept Thomas Feagen, and raised him. He later came to Arkansas with the family and eventually married F. L. Blasingame on September 7, 1884. The Mullikin Family had relocated from South Carolina to Tippah County, Ripley, Mississippi. When the Civil War broke our, Emanuel and his brother Leander Mullikin enlisted in the Mississippi Volunteers, Company F, 23rd Regiment, at Jackson, Mississippi, in September 1861. The Military History of the two brothers is the same. They were captured at Fort Donelson, Tennessee, February 16, 1862, and sent to Camp Morton, Indianapolis, Indiana. They were in a Prisoner of War Exchange in August, 1862. They were again sent to fight with their unit. The 23rd surrendered at Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 4, 1863. There were three children born to Emanuel and Margarette. John Norman was born Movember 16, 1876. We are told he died at an early age. Rufus Kendrick Mullikin was born October 16, 1869, and Allie Agnes was born May 8, 1873. The Mullikin family left Mississippi, along with the McEntire, Pickens, Morgan and Blasingame Families. Emanuel's family first went to Texas, but thought they would have a better living if they moved back into Arkansas. Around 1880, the families moved to, and settled in Lincoln County, Arkansas. They traveled to the area in covered wagons pulled by oxen. The original Mullikin property remains in the family with the children of Rufus Kendrick having their homes there. Margarette died in 1919, and is buried beside her husband in Heflin Cemetery, Star City. Emanuel was kicked by a horse in 1899, and as a consequence of this accident, or "swamp fever", he died December 9th. After the death of Emanuel, Margarette came to live with her son Rufus Kendrick, and remained here until her death. ======================================================================
