O. Burr and took from them their beloved son, William Clifton. He was born March 22, 1909. Nineteen years and 27 days was his short life. Was laid to rest in Holly Springs Cemetery April 19th, about 4:00 p.m. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. T. J. Perry. The many floral offerings were a tribute to the esteem in which he was held by his many friends. The pallbearers were his high school chums of Star City. They consisted of the football squad. He passed on to the Great Beyond leaving behind father, mother, one brother, Alfred Burr, and three sisters, Mrs. Vera Rogers, Mary and Leota Burr, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. He was possessed of many good qualities, a king, obediant son, a loving and affectionate brother. His friendly disposition gave him a smile for everone whom he met. And the forgiving spirit tha dwelt within him will be rewarded to him on that great day of judgment, for he that forgiveth shall receive forgivness. A few seconds of suffering didn't prepare the lone parents for that awful change. He was stricken in young manhood when there seemed so much he could have accomplished. And when the news of his death flashed over the wires we wondered why he had to go. But we know God doeth all things well. He needed him, so he called him home. The sweetest, choicst and richest flower of the garden has withered to bloom in Heaven. Yes. we know he was a noble young man, but God needed a few more flowers to adorn his beautiful home, and Clifton was his choice. Now, may God make the sorrowing father and mother feel that they have a family started in Heaven. We will miss him, but we want to be submissive to His will. God's ways are not our ways, perhaps, but still we know it was hard to give him up, but we all have those sad trials. God knoweth best, for God giveth and God taketh away. May this dear family be comforted with His love, and may they know they have the sympathy of their friends. A precious one from us is gone. A voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our home Which never can be filled. Precious one thou have left us, Left us in the early bloom. God needed one more angel Amidst His shining band, So He bent with loving smiles And clasped our darling's hands. Lonely the home and sad the hours since our dear one is gone. We missed thee, oh, so sad- ly, but sleep on dear, and take your rest. We love you, but God loves you best. By two cousins
