STAR CITY -- James L. Lowry, 58, of Star City, died Friday at
Drew Memorial Hospital at Monticello.

He was born March 25, 1945, at Star City, a son of the late
Raymond Lowry Sr. and Mary Blasengame Lowry Young.

He served in the Army. He was a member of Motley Chapel
Baptist Church of Pine Bluff.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Lowry.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah A. Lowry; two sons, Brian
Lowry of Rison and Todd Lowry of Nashville (Howard County);
one daughter, Amber Peterson of Dallas; one brother, Raymond
Lowry of Star City; two half brothers, Gerald Lowry of
Houston and J.C. Lowry of Jackson, Miss.; two sisters,
Juanita Via of Star City and Ann Landys of Granite City,
Ill.; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First
Assembly of God Church at Star City with Jim Hughes
officiating. Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Service of
Star City.

The family will be at the home of Willis and Juanita Via at
Star City. The body was cremated.

Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church or
the American Heart Association.
