She was born Feb. 14, 1937, at Yorktown, a daughter of the late George Crooms and Virgie Harrison Richmond. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church at Yorktown. She was also pastor and founder of Living Example Church at Yorktown. Survivors include six sons, Lonell Crooms, James Hose and Rodney Hose, all of Dallas, Virgil Bhones of Fordyce, and Robert Hose and Latonia Hose, both of Yorktown; three daughters, Kearon Whaley and Atasha Marshall, both of Yorktown, and Cortinea Johnson of Memphis; two stepdaughters, Fannie Williams of Houston and Mattie Hose of Atlanta; two brothers, George Crooms of Dallas and J.D. Crooms of Tamo; two sisters, Neomia McNair of Fordyce and Joyce Stephenson of Dallas; one stepsister, Leester Gray of Hot Springs; 26 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Atasha Marshall, Route 1 Box 77-H, Star City.
