All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Arthur Chester WHISENHUNT 12/26/1889-7/17/1946 Dallas Texas : Arthur C (Whizz) Whisenhunt in the Fair Park Station, a carrier in the Dallas post office since 1921, died in the Veterans Hospital in Lisbon on July 17, 1946. He was born in Star City Arkansas, Butler, Garrett Community December 26, 1889. Services are scheduled for Saturday July 19, in the parlors of Lamar-Smith funeral home in Oak Cliff, with the Rev. Cecil Funk, a fellow letter carrier, and Rev. Presley C. Hand of the East Dallas Baptist Church. Burial in the Veterans'Garden of Laurel Land Memorial Park at Dallas. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph L Whisenhunt, two brothers Joseph E and Fred W. Whisenhunt, three sisters Ollie Maye, Martha E. and Lula E. Whisenhunt. He is survived his wife, Mirriam O Whisenhunt; a daughter, and by two brothers, John W. and James (Jim) Whisenhunt of Grand Saline: his mother, Mrs. Leona E. (Crotts) Whisenhunt of Silver Lake; two sisters, Mary E. Carpenter of Silver Lake and Mrs. Bessie Oates of Denver Colo. Mr. Whisenhunt was a member of the American Legion Post No. 275 Oak Cliff and the Odd Fellows. He was a Veteran of the first World War and the Flag Service will performed at the grave by his American Legion buddies. Pallbearers are Joe Richardson, L.L. Bullard, W.W. Turner, all retired letter carriers, and J.T. Bolton, Oscar Gleiser and Lyle Graham, Present letter carriers.
