W. D. Russell, deputy state organizer for the W. O. W., had a counsing whom he had never seen, nor had he any idea in what part of the world he may be, but had always looked up people bearing his name, knowing that the family favor would be seen should he ever chance to meet the lost cousin. He was introduced to Reubin Russell in Wilton, and seeing the family resemblance began to question him about his people. He soon found that there was no mistake this time and made his relationship known. About this time Oscar Waldrop, a brother of Sheriff W. D. Waldrop, arrived in Wilton to visit with his brother, whom he had not seen in 24 years, the former was a child at the time, and had later gone to Western Texas. The two cousins found out who he was, and between them they hatched up a surprise party for the sheriff. Reubin Russel telephoned the sheriff that he had picked up a man wanted by the sheriff of Sevier county, and that he would bring him up to be placed in jail to later turn him over to the proper authorities and receive the reward. Accordingly they drove to Ashdown and turned the man over to the sheriff, who sized him up and asked several questions as to the nature of the charges, etc. Suddenly he saw a resemblance of someone he had known, lifted his brother's hat and recognized him as his kid brother. There was a shout of recognition, and one of the Russells stated that a mist in his eyes prevented him from seeing what followed. Additional Comments: Oscar Waldrop and W. D. (William Daniel Waldrop) were sons of Martha Waldrop of Randolph County Alabama, she is the daughter of Jason Waldrop and Rebecca Edmondson.
