I was looking for cemeteries in the area and found some that were not on the list on the internet. I was hoping to share my survey and some of the information I located on theses cemeteries, in the hope it would help someone else in their research. Slaty Point Cemetery GPS Location N35 15.666 W093 29.290 Slaty Point Cemetery is located about 4.5 miles southeast, down Sorghum Hollow Road from Highway 22 on the left hand side of the road. Many of the markers are unreadable and as stated above many unmarked graves. Names on the markers are: Hixson, W. R. Son of J. A. and E. J. Slaty Point Cemetery Located on the north side of the road that goes through the valley southeast of the Half Bushel swimming hole on Shoal Creek after crossing the low water bridge in the Shoal Creek Narrows. The Forest Service was building a fence around it in the spring of this year 1990. Years ago there was a church house nearby, known as Slaty Point Church. On or near the property of William and Cora Powell Miller. 23 graves are there. 6 markers. W. R. Hixson Son of J. A. and E. J.
