He was born in Trenton, Mo, toLionel "Onel" Arthur and Lulu Lee Brown Oyler on Sept 28, 1918. He began working in the funeral service as a young man in Missouri, attended mortuary school in Kansas City, Mo., and came to Arkansas in 1939 and worked at Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock until July 1941. At this time, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and saw 4 =BD years of active duty. He was discharged November 1945 as a Chief Pharmacists Mate in the 108th Naval Construction Battalion, on the USS Oberon, USN Base Hospital #2 in Norfolk, Va. He returned to Owens Funeral Home until 1964, at which time he purchased Wilson Funeral Home and Todd Flower Shop in England, Ark. He sold this business in 1981 but continued serving in the funeral business with Sheldon Madden until retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Arkansas Funeral Directors Association, member of the National Funeral Directors Association, a member of the Arkansas Burial Association, a member of the Arkansas State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, of which he served as president in = 1958 and secretary in 1962. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in England and was serving on the board of stewards at the time of his death. He was instrumental in many things for the city of England. He was a member of the England Hospital Commission, England Country Club, active member of the Lions Club, founder of the AA England Chapter, served on the Board of Mulberry Cemetery Association.
