W. Coulson, age 77, of Austin, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include one son Lee Coulson, Austin; one brother, V. L. Austin, Michigan; one sister, Mary Evans, Marked Tree; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Coulson, and a brother, James Ray Austin. Funeral will be Monday (2 Nov 1998), 2 p.m. at Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. MONDAY, 2 NOV 1998 CABOT - Raymon Larence Childress, age 80, of Cabot, died Sunday, November 1, 1998. He was a retired farmer, a lifetime member of New Hope Baptist Church, and present member of Cabot First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Mae Childress of Cabot; one son, Jim Childress of Lonoke; one daughter, Juanita Hayes of Story, Ark.; one brother, Alvin Johnson of Billings, Mont.; one sister, Hazel Bergquist of Sun City West, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Mark Kennedy, Les Childress, Cliff Childress, Holly Travis, Rob Hayes, Cynthia Wood; eight great-grandchildren. Funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with burial at New Hope Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Hope Cemetery Fund. Family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight (2 Nov 1998). ENGLAND - Ray Harkey, a retired farmer, age 89 years, of England passed away Saturday, Oct 31, 1998. Mr. Harkey was a member of the Lions Club. He was preceded in death by sisters, Gladys and Jean, and by brothers, Glenn and Roy. Mr. Harkey is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vada Jane George Harkey; sister Margie Burkhead of Dallas; daughters, Rose Carolyn Lipscomb of England, and Mary Margaret Dawson of Little Rock; grandchildren, Dr. John Lipscomb of Ohio, Margaret Lipscomb Page of California, and John Stephen Dawson of Tennessee; five great-grandchildren; and many friends. Mr. Harkey was born Oct. 19, 1909, on Crow Mountain near Russellville in Pope County, and his family moved to Tomberlin in 1918 to till the more fertile bottom lands. He spent his life coaxing a living from the soil and with his wife raised a successful and loving family. He hunted and fished the area, particularly enjoying time spent on Bayou Meto. Mr. Harkey delighted his family with tales of his mules and their antics, as well as of his comrades and their outdoor enjoyments. We will miss his laughter and jokes which were always accompanied by a twinkle in his blue eyes. Services will be held Tuesday (3 Nov 1998) at 10 a.m. at Wilson-Stephens Funeral Chapel in England. Interment will be at Mulberry Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today (2 Nov 1998) at the funeral home. ENGLAND - Ray Holladay Sr., age 89, of England, died Friday, Oct 30, 1998. He was born July 19, 1909, in Griffithville, Ark., to Ambros and Luner Durnell Holladay. He was a Baptist and a retired farmer. Survivors include two sons, Harold Holladay and Ray Holladay, both of England; four daughters, Helen Holladay, Margie Holladay and Cheryl Campbell, all of England, Joannie Barron, North Little Rock; 16 grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Holladay; one daughter, Nancy Murphy; and one son, Bobby Holladay. Funeral services are set for today (2 Nov 1998) at the Landmark Baptist Church in England. Bro. Joe Dickey will officiate. Interment will be at Keo Cemetery. ARK DEMO-GAZ, WEDNESDAY, 4 NOV 1998 CABOT - H. A. "Chick" Whitley, age 82, of Cabot, died Monday, November 2, 1998. He was the retired owner of Whitley Drug in Cabot for 43 years. He received his pharmacy degree from the University of Texas and had been a licensed pharmacist for 50 years, was a 32nd Degree Mason, retired from the Board of Directors of the Bank of Cabot, and a member of the Cabot First United Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife, Frances Whitley, Cabot, one son, Jerry Whitley, Cabot, two daughters, Suzanne Langford, Cabot, and Joan Elizabeth Flores, Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Scott and Brad Langford, Christina Whitley-Baum, Adam and Libby Flores, Melanie Whitley; one great-grandchild, Christopher Langford. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday (5 Nov 1998) at Cabot First United Methodist Church, with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, Ark. Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday (4 Nov 1998) at the church. Memorials may be made to the Cabot First United Methodist Church. LONOKE - Sheldon B. Buterbaugh, 58, died Nov. 2, 1998. He was Catholic and an industrial engineer. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Buterbaugh; four sons, Sheldon N. Buterbaugh of Sherwood, John D. Medley of Germantown, Md., Robert C. Medley of Virginia Beach, Va., Stephen E. and Amanda Medley of Lonoke; two daughters, Natalie Grizzell of Sanibel Island, Fla., and Shana Buterbaugh of Little Rock; grandchildren, Jennifer of Sanibel Island, Alyssa of Germantown, Md., and Cold of Cabot; mother, Mazulma Buterbaugh of Frederick, Md.; brother, Noel L. and Maggi Buterbaugh of Ijamsville, Md.; sister, Terry McLarney of Gaithersburg, Md., and all the Thurgood family. Everyone whom his life touched is invited to come to say farewell. ARK DEMO-GAZ, THURSDAY, 5 NOV 1998 SYLVANIA - Norene Guyot, age 76, of the Sylvania Community passed away Tuesday, November 3, 1998. She was retired from the Tuf-Nut Garment Factory and a member of the Sylvania Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two brothers, Frank Guyot of Conway and Sid Guyot of Beebe; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Minnie Guyot, and three brothers, Aubrey, Hubert and Halbert Guyot. Funeral will be 10 a.m. today (5 Nov 1998) at Sylvania Church with burial in Sylvania Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home. FRIDAY, 6 NOV 1998 AUSTIN - James Robert Chapman, infant son of Carl and Jeana Chapman of Austin, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998.
