She was a member of the Christian Church in Jacksonville and the Eastern Star Chapter #314 in Corona, Calif., where she served as past Worthy Matron in 1970. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brother and two sisters. Survived by her husband, Guy Duckworth of the home; one daughter, Marsha Duckworth of Cabot; one sister, Nancy Richardson of Riverside, Calif.; two grandchildren, Melinda Cooper of Cabot; David Larcyn of California, and four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jeffrey Cooper of Cabot, Jordyn and Cory Larcyn of California; and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home. CARLISLE - Bill Fulcher, 84, of Carlisle passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 1998. He was born Feb. 1, 1914, in Ola, Ark. Upon graduating from Ouachita Baptist University, he taught school for three years. In 1939, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and later transferred to the United States Air Force. He served as a combat pilot in World War II and was stationed in Europe and the Middle East. Upon returning home, he opened Fulcher Hardware from which he retired in 1976. In 1993, he was awarded the George Cross Island Military Award from the government of Malta. For 31 years he served as a volunteer for Youth for Understanding International Exchange Program. He was a founding member of Lonoke County Cares. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fulcher; two daughters, Peggy Glover of Traskwood, Valerie Phaup of North Little Rock; one brother, Wayne Fulcher of Warren, Mich.; and four grandchildren. He will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Sept. 13, 1998, at the First Baptist Church in Carlisle where he was a member. She was the youngest of three daughters of the late May Munroe and Henry Lionel Elcan. At age four, in the fall of 1919, she moved with her family from Lonoke to Hot Springs. She held a Master of Library Science degree from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA. She served as librarian of the senior high school of Blytheville; a cataloguer in the library of Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Okla.; research librarian of Lees Junior College at Jackson, Ky. She returned to her home in Hot Springs in 1969. She was active in the YWCA during the 1970's. She also served in the Senior Citizen's Center and the Rehabilitation Center. She was or had been a member of the YWCA Sabina Club; the Arkansas Education Association; American Association of University Women, Hot Springs Branch; Daughters of the American Revolution, Hot Springs, Arkansas Chapter; the United Daughters of the Confederacy; Colonial Dames XVII Century; Magna Carta Dames; Clan Munro; Bolling Family Association; and Skipwith Family Association. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her eldest sister, Meric Elcan Walker Fulton (Mrs. Earl D). She is survived by her sister, Katherine Bolling Elcan Crandall (Mrs. Paul F) of Richmond, Va.; a niece, Meric Fulton Jones O'Keefe (Mrs. David G) of Lanett, Ala.; five grand nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hamilton was a retired school teacher, an elder of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Lonoke Book Club and a Kappa Kappa Gamma from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
