DODDRIDGE

The railroad came through the Champ T. Field's land in 1892 and this was the beginning
of what is now known of Doddridge, Ark. The depot and a store was opened and the Post Office.
The town was either named for a railroad official or the Dodd family - Mr. Champ T. Field's wife's
family - plus the ridge was taken because of the ridge formation of the land.
