RAVANA, ARKANSAS Ravana is located in the extreme southeast corner of Arkansas. Bloomburg is five miles north of Ravana with Rodessa, Louisiana three miles south. The most elevated spot in the community is known as "Beck Hill". It was the old Joiner place but is now owned by the late George Beck's decendants who could sit on the back porch of the home and see for miles. The early settlers chief industry was timber business, they cut logs for railroad ties and telephone poles and hauled them by horse and wagon to Atlanta or Jefferson Texas. Sawmills were run in this area during the 1800 and later.
