Sweeney is my Grandfather, Anthony Bernard Sweeney....My Dad mentioned that his father had been shot at one time but he did not know when, where or why?...Only that he had been shot..... He was married 16 Nov 1886 in Texarkana, so I am sure that his young wife was worried sick!.....Finding this information now makes me believe another story of my Dad's, and that was that Gramps went three rounds with the Great John L. Sullivan.... He being the first Barenuckle Champion of the World....He would go on exhibition tour of the US and offer challengers X number of dollars if they could go three rounds with him...According to Dad, Gramps did....Now if we could find that information, that really would be something.....Sometimes these stories that we have heard really are true... .like this shooting! I was really surprised to find this info........................
