Hiram S. Barney, aged 72, died at the home of his son, Judge H. M. Barney,
2409 County Avenue, at five o'clock yesterday afternoon.  Deceased had made
his home with his son in Texarkana for the past nine years. Previous to
that time he had lived for a number of years on the Pacific Coast.

He was a native of Ontario, Canada, born in 1851.

Besides Judge Barney, two other sons survive, Hiram L. and William F. of
Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral survices were held at the Barney home at 3:30 o'clock this
afternoon by Rev. Edwin Weary of the Episcopal church, after which the
remains were interred in the Masonic section of the State Line Cemetery.
The following acted as pall bearers:

Lynn Smith, G. G. Pope, Arthur Dean, P. W. Patterson, Tom White, and L. W.
Johnson.
