All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Texarkana Daily News - Monday, March 8, 1937 p-5, col. 5 MILLER COUNTY FARMER TAKES LIFE WITH GUN A former verdict of suicide was handed down Sunday by Corner Roy Witcher of Miller county at the conclusion of an inquire into the death of Jim Hamilton, 55 year old planter of the Sylverino community, who was shot to death Sunday morning. Hamilton’s death occurred at his home a few moments after 8 a. m. Sunday. He had been discussing matters with members of his family and he suddenly left the room going into his own room a few minutes. Later a shot was heard and the family found him dead on the floor with a 10 gauge shotgun beside his body. No reason could be described by members of his family for his act. He was understood to have been in good health, and had not been brooding over any matters. Funeral services had not been announced Monday, it was learned.
