Malcom Dero Hurt, 85, of Texarkana, Ark. Died Monday in a local hospital of
natural causes.  Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at East Memorial Chapel
with the Reb. Jimmy Roden officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial
Gardens.

Mr. Hurt was born April 19, 1898 at Hope, Ark.  He was a retired employee
of Miller County Courthouse, a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church and
a lifetime member of Eagles Lodge No. 2684.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Marie Hurt of Texarkana, one daughter
Flordine Hurt of Sacramento, Calif, one son L. D. Hurt of Sacramento, one
brother, Paul E. Hurt of Spring, Texas: two step daughters, Mary Skinner
McCreary of Greenville, Miss, and Mable "Tootie" Taylor of Texarkana, seven
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
