Donia Lee Handley Jeans, 97 of Texarkana, AR, died Wednesday, Oct. 15,
1997, in a local nursing home. Mrs Jeans was born July 18,1900 in
Nashville, Ark. (Kirby,  Arkansas). She was a homemaker and a charter
member of Lowell street Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her
husband, Jeff Jeans, a daughter, Mary Fay Evans, and a son, R. J. "Bill"
Jeans.

Survivors include four sons, Boyce D. Jeans and Bobby W. Jeans of Oklahoma
City, Sanford Jeans of Marshall, Texas, and Hiram Jeans of Texarkana; two
daughters, Ella Mae Evans of Orange, Texas and Barbara McNabb of Sugar
Land, Texas; 41 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; and 49 great-great
grandchildren.

Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. O.H. Griffith and Dr. Jerry Creek officiating.  Burial will be in
Sylverino Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at the Hiram Jeans home off Highway 237. Memorials may
be made to Lowell Street Baptist Church, 2200 Lowell St., Texarkana, Ark
