Services will be at 2 P.M. today in the Sylverino Baptist Church with the Rev. Boyce Green officiating. Burial be in the Sylverino Cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home. Born Dec. 24, 1904 in Miller County, Ark. Combs had been a lifetime resident of this area. He was a retired mail-handler and a member of the Springhill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nettie Cooper Combs of Fouke, three sons, Ernest Combs of Texarkana, Monty Combs of Fouke, and Wayne Combs of LaMaque, Tex., a brother Charlie P. Combs of Fouke, Three half-brothers, J.D. Combs, Henry Combs, and John O. Combs, all of Fouke, four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Webb, Mrs. Mable Burgess, Mrs Christine Pilgreen and Mrs Cora Smith all of Fouke, five grandchildren and several neices and nephews. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Texarkana Gazette, Miller Co., AR, 5 May 1985 Nettie Jewell Combs, 79, of Fouke, Ark., died Friday at her home after a short illness. Services will be 2 P.M. Monday at Sylverino Baptist Church with the Revs. Boyce Green and William V. Garner officiating. Burial will be in Sylverino Cemetery under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home. Mrs. Combs was born May 9, 1905, at Fouke, Ark., and had been a lifetime resident. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church and the widow of James Monroe Combs, who died June 15, 1974. Survivors include three sons, Monty Combs of Fouke, Ernest Combs of Texarkana and Wayne Combs of LaMarque, Texas: two brothers, Clarence Cooper of Heber Springs, Ark., and J. B. Cooper of Fouke; one sister, Lottie Summers of Texarkana; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will be at the family residence on Highway 71 south of Fouke.
