Joseph O. Sweeney, 76, of Memphis, Tenn., died Saturday in Memphis.
Services will be at St. Edwards Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo
Riedmueller officiating.  Other arrangements are pending.

Mr. Sweeney was associated with cotton dealer organizations in Dallas,
Tex., Houston, Tex., and Memphis, Tenn., spending 40 years with J. O.
McFadden Cotton Agency in Memphis. He retired in 1965. Survivors include a
sister, Mrs. M. D. O'Brien of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, George Sweeney
of Hollywood, Calif., and A. B. Sweeney of Shreveport, La., a nephew,
William A. Sweeney of Germany; two nieces, Mrs. J. M. Turner of Tucson,
Ariz., and M. E. Pratt of Port Hardy, Canada.
