Member of Old Family Horribly Burned Wednesday Afternoon While burning
Grass in Yard of Home Eight Miles South of City, on Line Ferry Road.

Mrs. G. W. Yarberry, wife of a well known farmer of Days Creek township
and a member of an old Miller family, died Thursday morning at 4:30
after suffering hours of agony from burns received Wednesday afternoon,
when her clothing became ignited while she was burning the grass in the
yard of her home near Lem Davis’ cotton gin about eight miles south of
the city on the Line Ferry road.

Mrs. Yarberry was alone in the yard at the time of the accident, and
before the flames could be extinguished she had been horribly burned,
the flesh on some parts of her body and limbs being literally roasted.
Everything possible was done to lessen her suffering and prolong life,
but death came as surcease to pain early Thursday morning.

Besides her husband and brothers she is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Mitchell of Cass, Texas and two sons, J.J. and J.J Yarberry, both of
whom reside in Day’s Creek township.
