He was born at Yarbro and was a lifelong Blytheville resident. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday school teacher and a past member of the church board. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, a member of Steele Rotary Club and a member of the Steele Industrial Committee. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hope Whitworth DEEN of Blytheville; three sons, Stephan DEEN of Jakarta, Indonesia, Dr. L. Stanley DEEN of Houston and Christopher DEEN of Blytheville; one brother, John DEEN of Brinkley; one sister, Mrs. Marie LOWERY of Memphis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Blytheville, the Rev. Paul BUMPERS and the Rev. Marilyn WEBB officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Cobb Funeral Home in charge.
