Lula Pearl ELROD, 55, of Bassett, died May 3, 1989 at the Baptist Central
Hospital in Memphis. *She was born February 27, 1934 in Bear Creek, Al. She
was a member of the Bassett Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, John F. ELROD of Bassett; three sons, Ronnie
A. HILLEGAS of Orville, Washington, Johnny L. HILLEGAS of Bassett and John
F. ELROD Jr. of Texas; one daughter, Jackie L. HILLEGAS of Bassett; two
brothers, Orbie SHIRLEY and Murphy SHIRLEY, both of Bear Creek, Alabama;
six sisters, Myrtis WILLIAMS, Jewell ARNOLD, and Mary R. BEATTY, all of
Bassett, Ruby GREGG, Francis CREECY and Martha S. CHISM, all of Osceola;
and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Belinda
Sue ELROD and Sharon ELROD; and one sister, Lorene MASSEY.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. May 5, 1989 at the Roller-Swift Funeral
Chapel in Osceola with Rev. Edward L. JAMES officiating. Burial was in
Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Roller-Swift Funeral Home
was in charge.
