All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Blytheville Courier News, Mississippi Co., AR, Friday 10-24-1997, page 6 Mrs. Louise Fields Grigsby, a retired legal secretary of Jackson, Miss, died Wednesday night, Oct. 22, 1997 of congestive heart failure. She was 89. Services will be held Saturday in Blytheville, with visitation beginning at noon at Cobb Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:30PM in Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev. Thad Grinstead will officiate. Mrs. Grigsby was a Blytheville native, growing up in the Lone Oak community. She was a teacher of the first class at the Loan Oak School, and at the 1996 reunion was honored as one of only four original teachers still living. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church, belonging to the Women of the Church and a circle group. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and a Life Master. Mrs. Grigsby was a legal secretary for over 50 years, working at many of Blytheville's most respected firms. "My mother's work ethic and love of her occupation inspired me to pursue my law degree", said her daughter, Susan Pinkston, a practicing lawyer in Jackson. Mrs. Grigsby was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ellis Grigsby. She leaves her only cild, Susan Pinkston, her only grandson, Christopher Ellis Pinkston, and a son-in-law, William C. Pinkston, all of Ridgeland, MS. Her sisters, Lillian Huey of Broken Arrow, OK, Mary Frances Coker of Olive Branch, MS, and Ila McMullin of Blytheville, and four nephews and one niece and several grand nephews and nieces.
