All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** (Blytheville [AR] Courier News; Thursday, April 18, 1985) Mrs. Alma KOONCE, 78, wife of Malcolm KOONCE, died Tuesday at her Joiner home. She was born in Lauderdale County, Tenn., and had lived in Joiner for the past 30 years where she was a member of the Joiner Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Robert KOONCE of Turrell, Eugene KOONCE of Memphis, Mack KOONCE and Jimmy KOONCE both of Pine Bluff; A daughter, Mrs. Alma Dean ROGERS of Jackson, Tenn.; Three brothers, Elmer McCOY and Fred McCOY, both of Memphis and Tom McCOY of Ripley, Tenn.; Fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Joiner Baptist Church, with the Rev. Harold DUNHAM officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Cobb Funeral Home. Family members request any memorials sent be made to the Joiner Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive visitors today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
