All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Jonesboro Sun November 16, 1986 Dr. Gilbert Wayne Taylor,59, of Caraway, died Saturday, November 15, 1986 after he suffered an apparent heart attack while attending a University of Arkansas football game in Little Rock. He was pronounced dead at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. The former Jonesbor doctor had moved his medical practice to Caraway recently. A native of Trumann, he was reared in Leachville and Manila areas. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University and the U of A School of Medicine in Little Rock. He was a retired colonel in the Air Force and affiliated with St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Jonesboro. He was a member of the Craighead-Poinsett Medical society, Arkansas Medical Ass., Arkansas Medical Society and the Southern Medical Society and was a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. Suvivors include his wife, Jo Ann Taylor of the home; a son, Lance Wayen Taylor of Jonesboro; and a daughter, Jodie T. Davis of Little Rock. A memorial service will be held at 10 Tuesday morning at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Dr. Patrick Murray officiating. A private burial is planned. The body will be cremated. Member of the Craighead-Poinsett Medical Society will serve as pallbearers. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro are in charge of services.
