Born Sept. 9, 1915 at Athens, Ala., he was a retired farmer and member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. He was a longtime resident of Mississippi County. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth WARREN of Clarksville; five sons, Durrell WARREN of Blytheville, Victor WARREN of Armorel, Glenn WARREN of Jackson, Miss., and Sidney WARREN of Greenville, Miss.; four daughters, Gwen CLOWERS of Osceola, Mamie FISK of Memphis, Verline ATKINS of Columbus, Miss., and Jean ACKER of Destin, Fla.; his mother, Eunice WARREN of Brownsville, Tenn.; two brothers, Willie WARREN of Ponotoc, Miss., and Hurtis WARREN of Aurora, Ill.; four sisters, Sadie PALMER of Calhoun, Miss., Virginia MINTON of Capitola, Calif., Rosie CLAYTON of Brownsville and Shirley GAHINDO of Aurora, 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William James WARREN. Funeral services were Friday afternoon, Sept. 9, at the Roller-Swift Funeral Home Chapel of Osceola, with Rev. James DECANTER officiating. Burial was in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens. Roller-Swift Funeral Home of Osceola was in charge of arrangements.
