Dearest Lily,

     Joy! Ted told Ethel after school today that he has brought you home! How 
wonderful! And I am delighted!

     I am glad Ted and Mary Lu are there with you!

     Please do follow the doctor's orders, even though you are at home.

     When I read this item about Sartre, I thought of you and of your love for 
words in your writing.

     Tomorrow night the senior play at the high school will be given. I'm 
hoping it will be interesting.

     Please pardon this brief note. I've had a busy day and am tired, so I will 
get ready for bed.

     Goodnight kisses, darling. I hope you rest real well tonight.
