Born October 29, 1907, at Caledonia in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Lee and Viola Berry Fautheree and the widow of the late George Edmond Dulaney. She had lived in Bossier City, La., for many years and was a member of Bossier Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mae Rucker of Lake O' The Pines, Marie Kirkpatrick of Splendora, Texas, and Maxine Covington and Christine Dalton of Prescott; three sons, Dean Ainsworth of Lake O' The Pines, George Dulaney Jr., of Bossier City, La., and C.L. Dulaney of Caledonia; four sisters, Mattie Maness of Switzerland, Fla., Eileen Booth of El Dorado, and Gloria Ferguson and Inez Thurlkill of Junction City; 29 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Caledonia Cemetery Monday, April 8, with the Rev. Hugh Nelson officiating. Burial was under the direction of Haggard and Son Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas. Pallbearers were Eddie Jones, Charlie Kirkpatrick, George Kirkpatrick, Garry Wood, Martey Ainsworth, Emmitt Dalton, Frank Rucker and Roger Manning. __________ Earnestine Guy Earnestine Inez Guy, 72, of Prescott died Thursday, April 4, 1996. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and the widow of Benjamin B. Guy Jr. She worked many years at the Learning Corner Daycare Center and also at the Nevada County Day Service Center and between bouts with cancer, she was a faithful volunteer at the Hillcrest Care Center. Survivors include a son, Benny Guy of El Paso, Texas; a daughter, Carolyn Steed of Prescott; a brother, Leslie Bartee of Hope; six grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. Services were held Saturday, April 6, at Central Baptist Church in Prescott. Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott. __________ Brice Thomas Jr. Brice `Peanut' Polk Thomas Jr., 71, of Perrytown died Saturday, April 6, 1996, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Born February 16, 1925, in Hope, he was a retired butcher for Moore's Grocery and a member of Providence Memorial Baptist Church in Perrytown. Survivors include his wife, Ann Thomas of Perrytown; three stepsons, Ralpoh Byers of Mineral Springs, David Byers of Nashville and Phil Byers of Hot Springs; two daughters, Peggy Herman of Minden, La., and Deborah Langston of Prescott; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hope under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home. __________ Miller Person Miller Eugene `Gene' Person, 71, of Prescott died Wednesday, April 10, 1996, at Prescott Nursing Center. Born February 27, 1925, in Perryville, he was a retired forensic chemist for the state of California, a veteran of World War II and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by two sons, Dale and Charles. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Person of Prescott; a son, Terry Don Person of Sacramento, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Graveside services and burial were held Saturday, April 13, at Caney Cemetery in Morris with Rev. Raymond Hicks officiating. Burial was under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. __________ Nona Avery Nona McDonald Avery, 91, of Pisgah community near Delight died Monday, April 8, 1996, at Prescott Nursing Center. Born December 13, 1904, in Smackover, she was the daughter of the late James Sidney and Nettie Claudia Holloway Freeland. She was a factory worker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Collie Eugene McDonald and Dudley J. Avery and two sons, Eugene E. McDonald and Collie Eugene McDonald Jr. Survivors include three sons, James McDonald of Liberty, Texas, Joe McDonald of Prescott and Allen McDonald of Brown Springs; three daughters, Irene Slater of Martinez, Calif., Lorene Avery of Texarkana, Texas, and Nona Jean Pierce of Liberty, Texas; one brother, James Ira Freeland of Mt. Born April 18, 1922, in Emmet, he was a retired self-employed mechanic, a veteran of World War II and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Hope. Survivors include his wife, Ovie Parmer of Emmet; three sons, Henry Parmer of Hope, Herbert Parmer of Bodcaw and Joe Stephens of Emmet; two daughters, Gwen D. Hill of Carthage, Texas, and Onie Morris of Nashville; three brothers, Sam Parmer and Joey Parmer of Emmet and Earl Parmer of Nashville; four sisters, Elizabeth Plumley of Hope, Darlene Parmer of Texarkana, Texas, Eula Virden of Alexandria, La., and Annie Mae Parmer of Hope; 15 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Born December 23, 1913, in Trumann, she was a retired self-employed grocer and member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her daughter, Ann Johnston Waller of Ashdown; a son, Bobby Lee Johnston of Ashdown; two fosters sons, Johnny P. Burial was in Greers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funerl Home of Magnolia. __________ Everett Sutton Lloyd Everett Sutton, 78, of Garland, Texas, formerly of Sutton and Prescott, died Saturday, April 20, in Dallas. Born July 30, 1917, in Sutton, he was an independent candy broker, founder and owner of Everett Sutton Candies in Garland, and had land holdings in the Sutton area. He was a member of Elks Lodge 71 and of the Tejas Dance Club. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Frances Rheudasil Sutton of Garland, Texas; a son, Lloyd Everett Sutton Jr., of Garland; three daughters, Martha Jayne McKelvy of Garland, Betty Ann Buzbee of Princeton, Texas, and Chandra Merele Sutton of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Sue Crank of Longview, Texas; six grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Born October 15, 1930, in Cale, she was a homemaker and a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Prescott. She was preceded in death by a son, James Ellis Dansby. Born January 3, 1920, in Prescott, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Prescott. Survivors include a brother, Derald M. Williams of Prescott; and a sister, Elizabeth Crain of Prescott. Born July 28, 1912, in Willisville, she taught school for 32 years, 20 in Hope, and prepared taxes for 25 years. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church of Hope for 47 years. Survivors include her husband, Thurman Ridling of Hope; a step daughter, Rebecca Sage of Maumelle; a sister, Christeen Rogers of Magnolia; and three grandsons. Services were held Monday, April 22, at Unity Baptist Church in Hope with the Rev. I.V. Hight officiating. Burial was in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott. __________ Charles William Smith Charles William Smith, 72, of Magnolia died Tuesday, April 23, 1996, in the Magnolia hosptial. Born May 13, 1923, in Nashville, he was the son of Charles William Smith and Della Tinsley Smith. He graduated from Nashville High School in 1942, and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He owned and operated the Recreation Center for 23 years. After nine years of employment, he retired in 1988 from the U.S. Post Office in Magnolia. He was a member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Marlene J. Carlson Smith of Magnolia; two sons, Bobby Smith of Prescott and Bo Smith of Russellville; two daughters, Wendy Stinson of Shreveport, La., and Candy Adams of Magnolia; three sisters, Verniese McJunkins of Saratoga, Lillie Jo McJunkins of Saratoga and Frances Boyette of Nashville; and six grandchildren. She was born January 28, 1922, in Prescott and was the widow of Joe Johnson. Survivors include four sons, Joe Johnson Jr. and Roger Johnson of Lewisville and Ottis Johnson and Charles Johnson; three sisters, Vollie Campbell and Helen Kelly of Prescott and Pauline Crouse of Texarkana. Born July 15, 1931, in Nevada County, she was a homemaker and a member of St. John Baptist Church in Bluff City. Survivors include her husband, R.J. Purifoy of Bluff City; four sons, Dale Purifoy and William Floyd Purifoy of Bluff City, Tommy Purifoy of Chidester and Daniel Lee Purifoy of Prescott; two brothers, Cullen Purifoy and McKinnon Purifoy of Bluff City; and six grandchildren. Burial was in St. John Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. __________ Gerald Clayton Hendrix Gerald Clayton Hendrix, 63, of Antoine died Wednesday, April 26, 1996, in Antoine. Born September 18, 1932, in Antoine, he attended Harding College and the University of Arkansas. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, served on the Arkansas Soil and Water Conservation Commission for 26 years, was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in 1994 and was a member of the Antoine Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Lou Hendrix of Antoine; three sons, David Brian of Antoine, Kent Hendrix of Nashville and Max Hendrix of Arlington, Texas; his parents, the former senator and Mrs. Olen Hendrix of Antoine; a sister, Annette Baldwin of Marshall, Texas; two brothers, James William Hendrix of Antoine and Darwin Hendrix of Antoine; his mother-in-law, Ida Lamb of Waldron; and five grandchildren. Graveside services were held Friday, April 26, in the Antoine Cemetery with Wallace Alexander, Gene Jester and B.B. Harding officiating. Born June 3, 1919, in Prescott, she was a Methodist and the widow of Jesie Jones. Survivors include a siser, Dora Brzeski of Prescott; five nephews and one niece. Burial was in Midway Cemetery near Prescott under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home. __________ Winnie Belle Hooker Winnie Belle Hooker, 71, of Prescott, died Sunday, April 28, 1996, in Prescott. Born on January 20, 1925, in Nevada County, she was the daughter of Jude and Ida Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Prescott. She was a member of the Prescott Church of Christ and the Eastern Star. As owner and manager of the Broadway Hotel and Cafe, she was well known in the community and enjoyed the friendships that she developed there. She devoted her later years to her grandchildren and great grandchildren whose pictures she displayed with pride in her restaurant. Survivors include her husband, Chester Hooker of Prescott; two sons, Jerry Hooker of Prescott and Ronnie Hooker of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Judy Ammons of Prescott and Melinda Faulkner of Prescott; two brothers, Billy Bob Smith and James D. Smith of Prescott; a sister, Eva Lou Stanley of Prescott; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday, April 30, at the Prescott Church of Christ with Bro. Born September 15, 1899, in Nevada County, she was a member of Union Baptist Church in Bodcaw and a homemaker. She was the widow of Christopher Butler. Survivors include two daughters, Louise Buford of Lawton, Okla., and Patsy Smittle of Gainesville, Fla.; a sister, Vera Whitney of Decatur, Ill., 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a number of great great grandchildren. Born Wednesday, February 1, 1939, in Pittsburg, Kans., she was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Micheal Bennet of Hope and James Selton of Weir, Kan.; two daughters, Michelle Baker of Prescott and Brenda Roach of Joplin, Mo.; a brother, Robert McAlister of Pittsburg, Kan.; three sisters, Claudine Robinson of Oralville, Calif., Mary Ann Johnson of Silverton, Ore., and Ellen Hagins of Weir, Kans; and eight grandchildren. McKamie officiating, under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope.} __________ Margaret Irene Roberts Margaret Irene Wylie Roberts, 75, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Hope, died April 26, 1996, after an extended illness. A native of Hope, she was the daughter of the late George and Lucille Wylie and was retired from Stouffer Hotel as executive housekeeper. Survivors include two sons, Tommy Roberts of Houston and James Roberts of Hope; a brother, Arch Wylie of Hope; a sister, Allena Scott of Monroe, La.; and five grandchildren. The body was cremated and friends of the Fourth Street Church of Christ- Scientist participated in a memorial remembrance.} __________ John `Buster' Willis John Wayne `Buster' Willis, 41, of Prescott died Sunday, April 28, 1996, at this home. He was a retired logger, a lifelong resident of Prescott and a member of Green Hill A.M.E. Church. Survivors include his wife, Lucinda Willis; a stepson, Derrick Hardamon of Prescott; two brothers, Jerry Willis of Hope and David Willis of Nashville; four sisters, Gwendolyn Montgomery of Dyersburg, Tenn., Bonita Dawkins of Hickory, Miss., Sherri King of Fayetteville, N.C., and Sonye Willis of Flint, Mich.; and his mother, Johnnie Pearl Willis of Prescott. Born March 9, 1900, in Prescott, she was a Methodist. Survivors include three nephews, Virgil Daniel, Bill Gordon and Mike Gordon all of Prescott; six nieces, Betty Woosley of Brewton, Ala., Myrna Hunter, Vonciel Gordon both of Prescott, Jan Merideth of Desert Springs, Calif., Millie Sharp of Burney, Calif., and Sharon Gordon of Portland, Ore. Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 1, at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating and under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.} __________ Fay Cox Andrews Fay (Cleddy Fay) Cox Andrews, 89, of Virginia, died April 22, 1996. Born in the Boughton community near Prescott, she was the daughter of Dr. James Ellis Cox, who practiced medicine in Arkansas for over 50 years, and Grace Herman Taylor. She was also the descendant of two American Revolutionary War patriots. At Ouachita Baptist University, she majored in piano performance in prepartion for music ministry and also attended Henderson State Univerity. She retired from federal civil service, where she held positions in Texarkana, Memphis, Philadelphia, Honolulu and Dayton. She had also taught school in several locations in Arkansas. She was a Baptist and was very active in the church. Her hobbies included flowers, music, study, writing and travel. Survivors include her sister, Jamie Cox McRae of Presott; a daughter, Sandra Andrews Robertson of Mason Neck, Va.; three grandsons; and two great grandsons. Services were held at the chapel of Forest Hill East Funeral Home in Memphis with Dr. R. Paul Caudill officiating. Burial was at Memphis Memorial Park. Memorials may be sent to Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia.}
