Prosser, 78, of Gun Barrel City, Texas, formerly of Prescott, died December 20, 1995, in Gun Barrel City. Born July 5, 1917, in Victor, N.Y., he was a former mechanic at DeLamar Chevrolet in Prescott and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City. Survivors include his wife, Marie Prosser of Gun Barrel City; two daughters, both of Gun Barrel City; 16 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Services were held Saturday, December 23, at Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank, Texas, with Rev. Byron Jones officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Seagoville, Texas, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank, Texas. ___________ Homer C. Greer Homer C. Greer, 87, of Burkeville, Texas, formerly of Nevada County, died Tuesday, December 26, 1995, at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Texas. A native of Arkansas, he was a longtime Burkeville resident, a charter member of Columbia Hunting Club, a retired logging contractor and a member of Burkeville Baptist Church. Survivors include a brother. Glen Greer of Newton, Texas; a sister, Thelma Wingfield of Jasper; two grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Services were held Thursday, December 28, at Burkeville Baptist Church with Bro. E. Dudley Rutledge officiating and assisted by Bro. Van Lowe. Burial was in Tanner Cemetery in Burkeville under the direction of Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper, Texas. __________ Lewis Thompson III Lewis E. Thompson III, M.D., 46, of Little Rock, formerly of Prescott, died Thursday, December 28, 1995, of a heart attack. Born in Little Rock, he was a graduate of Hall High School before graduating from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1971. He then graduated from the University of Arkansas Medical Science School in 1975 becoming a family practice physician. He was a member of the Arkansas and American Medical Association and was a Presbyterian. Survivors include two daughters, Patirica Claire and Elizabeth Ann Thompson, both of Prescott; and two sisters, Toss Worthington and Joy Sallee Thompson, both of Little Rock. Graveside services were held Saturday, December 30, at Roselawn Cemetery with Rev. Robert Graham officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity. __________ Howard Webb Howard Webb, 66, of Blevins, died Monday, December 25, 1995, at Pike County Hospital in Murfreesboro. Born in McCaskill, April 8, 1929, he was a retired Hempstead County truck driver and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Urcella Webb of Blevins; three sons, Thomas Howard Webb and Douglas Dewayne `Doug' Webb of Blevins, and William Charles `Chuck' Webb of McCaskill; a daughter, Marsha Ann Erwin of Nashville; two brothers, J. L. Webb of McCaskill and Charles Wayne Webb of Benton; three sisters, Lee Walters, Bobbie Middlebrooks and Betty Vise, all of Benton; three grandchildren; and one step granddaughter. Services were held Wednesday, December 27, at Balls Chapel Church of Christ in McCaskill with Randy Hughes officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in McCaskill under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope. __________ Steve Snell Jr. Steve W. Snell Jr., 67, of Clarksville, died Monday, December 2, 1995, at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, He was retired as counselor at Lamar High School. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents S.W. Snell and Coy Deaton Snell. Survivors include his wife, Mary Willis Snell of Clarksville; a son, Stephen Snell III, M.D.; a brother, James Richard Snell of Emmet; and two grandchildren. Graveside services were Wednesday, December 27, 1995, at Snell Cemetery in Emmet with Rev. Richard Brown officiating. Burial was in Snell Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home. __________ William Robey William Ross Robey, 58, of Little Rock, formerly of Prescott, died Sunday, December 31, 1995. He was the son of the late Robert Jack Robey and Louise Ross Robey. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Jack Robey Jr. Survivors include a brother, Gus Robey of Benton. Services were held Friday, January 5, at the Shackelford Funeral Home chapel in Prescott. Burial was in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home. ___________ Charlie Sisson Charlie Sisson, 81, of Hope died Saturday, December 23, 1995, in Medical Park Hospital. Born November 24, 1914, in Laneburg, he was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department and a member of Rocky Mound Baptist Church. Survivors include a brother, Otis Sisson of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Bonnie Boyette of Washington and Ethel Booker of Camden. Graveside services and burial were held at Laneburg Cemetery under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope. __________ Doris M. Loe Doris M. Loe, 69, of Camden, formerly of Prescott, died Saturday, December 30, 1995. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, O.A. Loe of Camden; a son, Lawrence Loe of San Antonio, Texas; two daugthers, Debra Ann Miller and Leona Kay Loe, both of Little Rock; a sister, Patricia Burkhart of Redding, Pa.; and four grandchildren. Graveside services were held Monday, January 1, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Prescott with Bro. Charles Teel officiating. Burial was under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home of Camden. __________ Odell Toliver Odell Toliver, 74, of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Blevins and Prescott, died Saturday, December 30, 1995. Born January 18, 1921, in Blevins, he was the son of the late Earnest and Elnora Toliver and a member of Ward Chapel AME Church in Prescott. He graduated from McRae High School, was retired from the U.S. Army and the University of Washington custodial department. He was a member of Curry C.M.E. Church in Seattle. Survivors include four children, Bobbi Sims of Seattle, Wash., Odell Toliver Jr. of Fairfield, Calif., Twyla Toliver of Hayward, Calif., and Myrtice Ahmed of Seattle; one stepdaughter, Lula Simmons of Seattle; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Services were held Thursday, January 4, at Curry Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Seattle with Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial was in Abbey View Cemetery in Seattle under the direction of Bleitz Funeral Home of Seattle. __________ Pearlie Banks Pearlie Banks, 82, of Prescott died December 28, 1995. Born July 13, 1917, in Bigelow, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Samuel Jospeh and Mrs. Luller Oliver Roseburrow. She was a graduate of Conway County Training Senior High, a former member of New Zion A.M.E. Church in Conway during her youth, and was a graduate of Philander Smith College. She pursued her teaching career in the Prescott area. She returned to school and earned a master of education degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and subsequently, doing postgraduate work at St. Augustine College in Raleigh, N.C., Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia and the University of Arkansas. She was the widow of J.B. Banks. She was active in civic endeavors after retirement. She was an active member of Ward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church for 36 years where she served as director of religious education, director of the youth department, steward, stewardess, choir member, benevolent treasurer and program director. She was a member of the Hope Cotillion Club. Survivors include a sister, Elvira Vaughn of Morrilton and a brother, Samuel Roseburrow of Los Angeles, Calif. Services were held Saturday, January 6, at Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church in Prescott with Rev. Arthur L. Coulter officiating. Burial was in Sweet Home Cemetery near Prescott under the direction of Hicks Funeral Home of Hope. __________ Tate McGill Joseph Tate McGill, 72, of Little Rock, formerly of Prescott, died December 28, 1995 at Baptist Medical Center after a brief illness. Born December 21, 1923, in Jonesboro, he was the son of the late J. Tate McGill and Lois Winters McGill. He attended schools in Prescott and was a 1941 graduate of Prescott High School. He was a University of Arkansas engineering graduate and a gradaute of the School of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, Mo. He retired in 1983 from Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company and served as Mayor of Prescott. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. At the time of his death he was living in Little Rock. McGill's father was coach of the Prescott football team in 1922. The team traveled to Little Rock and played the Tigers with only 11 players on the roster. The Prescott team won the very competitive game and that is when the team was originally given the name, McGill's Curley Wolves, which was later changed to Prescott Curley Wolves. He is survived by his wife, Rene McGill of Little Rock; a son, David McGill of Texarkana; a stepson, Richard Mueller of Little Rock; a brother, James McGill of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a sister, Josephine Nichols of Atlanta, Ga. A memorial service was held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home chapel in Little Rock. Burial was in Little Rock National Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home of Little Rock. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
