Born June 2, 1912, in Ozan, he was a retired auto mechanic and a Baptist. Survivors include one son, Clifton `Cliff' Chism of Prescott; one stepson, Eugene Wingfield of Las Cruces, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Jerry Westmoreland officiating, under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. __________ Ernest Lavelle Vinson Ernest Lavelle Vinson, 78, of the Marysville community died Monday, June 10, 1996, at Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. Born October 1, 1917, in Union County, he was the son of Ernest Mark and Lona Almeda (Davis) Vinson. He was a retired employee of Cities Services Oil Co., a member of Marysville Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of Masons. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Carolyn (Hinson) Vinson of Marysville; two daughers, Mary Smith of Rosston and Carolyn Vinson Knox of Springhill, La.; one granddaughter; and three great grandsons. Services are being held today, Wednesday, June 12, at Marysville Methdodist Church with Bro. David Steele officiating. Born August 22, 1920, in Big Spring, Texas, she was a homemaker and a member of Laneburg Baptist Church in Laneburg. She was the widow of William H. Almand. Survivors include three sons, Bill and Walter Almand both of Laneburg and Harry Almand of Nashville; two daughters, Faye Griffin of Findley, Ohio, and Mae Meloy of Hope; four brothers, Vernon Thompson of Laneburg, Tillman Thompson of Gurdon, J.Y. Thompson of Stephens and Donald Thompson of Flint, Mich.; and three sisters, Arlene Almand of Laneburg, Geneva Cottingham of Prescott and Mary Helen Hollis of Magnolia; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Born December 5, 1932, in Blevins, she was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of Bruce Memorial United Methodist Church in Blevns and was past governor of Pilot International. Survivors include her husband, Charles `Jerry' Nelson of Hope; one son, Larry Nelson of Prairie Grove; her mother, Jennie Martin Smith of Hope; three brothers, Fred A. Smith of Magnolia, Bruce Smith of Shreveport, La., and Harold A. Smith of Murfreesboro; and one granddaughter. He was born January 11, 1907, at Powhattan, La. He was a mason, a member of the 11th Engineers in the U.S. Army between World War I and World War II and a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Minden, La. He is survived by three daughters, Jean Fetterman of Houston, Texas, Joan Kennedy of Prescott and Odessa Humphrey of Dubberly, La.; one son: Glenn Timon of Mooreingsport, La.; three sisters: Mary, Sis and Camile, all of Natchitoches, La.; one brother: W.E. Born in Emmet, he had been a Grand Prairie resident for the past 46 years. He had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired after 42 years from L.T.V. where he was a logistics engineer. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Willis of Grand Prairie; one son, Charles Randy Willis of Grand Prairie; one daughter, Mindy Willis Brown of Gallatin, Tenn.; two sisters, Alla Mae Skinner of Loraine, Ohio, and Marvell Williams of Springfield, La.; and four grandchildren. He was born on January 24, 1931, in Hempstead County and was an employee of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope. He was the son of the late Elbert and Honest Jones. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ester Belle Bradford, in March. Survivors include his wife, Allie Mae Jones of Hope; one son, Mike McBride of Hope; three daughters, Darlene Daniel of Laneburg, Sandy Gilbey of Hope and Nadine Baxter of Little Rock; one brother, Venson Jones of Hope; one sister, Gladys Schooley of Hope; and eight grandchildren. She was the daughter of Tom E. and Lilla Urrey. She was born January 20, 1908, in Bodcaw and a member of First Baptist Church of Hope. She was a clerk for J.C. Penney Co. and Tot-N-Teen. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Britt, and two sons, John L. Britt Jr. and Tommy M. Britt. Survivors include one son, Wilson Britt of Hope; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
