Survivors include her husband, Welton Bailey of Magnolia; a son, Alan Bailey of Rockwall, Texas; two daughters, Connie Hendrixson and Regina Watkins of Little Rock; two sisters, Elsie Young of Texarkana and Faye Wingfield of Conway; and six grandchildren. Services were held Sat., Mar. 2, at First United Methdist Church in Magnolia with Rev. Biff Averitt and Rev. Charles Murry of Pine Bluff officiating. Burial was in Willisville Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Magnolia. __________ FREDA ELMA LAMBERT Freda Elma Lambert, 78, of Alma, formerly of Prescott, died Friday, March 1, 1996, in Sparks Reginal Hospital in Fort Smith. Born March 10, 1917, in Smackover, she was the daughter of the late Caleb and Willie Ross. She was a retired nurse of Hillcrest Care Center and a member of New Hope Community Church in Prescott. Survivors include her husband, M.L. `Bill' Lambert of Alma; a son, Charles Lambert of Alma; a stepson, Emmet Lambert of Holly Bluff, Miss.; a daughter, Pam Greer of Hensley; a stepdaughter, Mary French of Hensley; two sisters, Vera Sparks of Sidney, Neb., and Juanita Conner of Kilgore, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Services were held Sun., Mar. 3, at New Hope Community Church with Bro. Mike Franklin and Bro. Shawn Shelton officiating. Burial was in Bluff City Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. __________ Linda Jo Arnold Linda Jo Arnold, 41, of Curtis died Sunday, March 10, 1996, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born January 24, 1955. She was manager of Pioneer Abstract and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe Arnold, Jr.; a son, Ryan Lee Arnold of Curtis; her parents, Neal and Mildred Southerland Welch of Arkadelphia; and a sister, Suzanne Welch Hardage of Memphis, Tenn. He was born May 18, 1917, in Beirne, the son of Grover C. and Vedia Crab Daniels. He was retired from Gurdon Lumber Co. He was a U.S. Army veteren of World War II and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gurdon. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Carter Daniels; a son, Burt Daniels of Gurdon; a daughter, Betty Thomas of Gurdon; a brother, Don Daniels of Arkadelphia; a sister, Georgia Golden of Arkadelphia; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Born March 29, 1926, in Nevada County, he was a retired employee of Potlatch Corporation and a member of Mt. Ephesus Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lillie Mae King of Prescott; three sons, Wilburn D. King Jr., of Saudi Arabia, Rev. Joe Franklin King of Ft. Hood, Texas, and Joe Nathan King of Ratcliff, Ky.; a daughter, Vanessa King McCraw of Hope; a brother, Joseph Virgil King of Oakland, Calif.; a sister, Ruby Evans of Harvey, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren. Burial was in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. __________ GEORGE GRESHAM George Gresham, 89, of Waterloo died Wednesday, March 13, 1996, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. A retired Baptist minister, he was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Waldo. He attended Magnolia A&M and graduated from both the University of Arkansas and Ouachita Baptist College. He was also a retired school teacher, having taught in Cale, Bodcaw, Hope and Willisville school systems. He was a marine veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Bob R. Gresham of Hope; a brother, Bud Gresham of California; five grandchildren; and a great granddaughter. Services were held Saturday, March 16, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Waterloo with Rev. He was a retired electrican and a Baptist. Survivors include three daughters, Jan Loveless of Russellville, Gail Smith of Taylor and Melonie Collier of Stamps; three sons, Joe Colton Jr. of Harligen, Texas, Mike Colten of Buckner and Mark Colten of Stamps; 12 grandchildren; and A great grandchild. He was born December 10, 1928, in Cale. He was employed with Pleasant Oil Company and a member of Nevill's Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allan Landers. Born March 28, 1937, in Prescott, she worked at Nevada County Hospital as ward clerk for several years, was a graduate of McRae High School and a member of St. Mark Baptist Church near Prescott. Survivors include her mother, Florence McCoy of Antioch, Calif.; her husband, Paul Kirby of Prescott; a son, Sidney E. Kirby of Prescott; two daughters, Carla Major and Melissa E. Kirby, both of Pittsburg, Calif; five brothers, Billy McCoy of Richmond, Calif., Willie McCoy of Bethel Island, John McCoy of Pittsburg, Calif., Joe McCoy of Novota, Calif. and Kenneth McCoy of Pittsburg, Calif.; three sisters, Archidine Wofolk of Pittsburg, Calif., and Norma McCoy and Kathie Peters of Antioch, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Bright, 83, of Gilmer, Texas, formerly of Emmet, died Wednesday, March 20, 1996, in Longview Regional Hospital in Longview, Texas. Born March 16, 1913, in Nevada County, he was a retired chicken farmer and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Lois Bright of Gilmer, Texas; three stepsons, George E. Langston of Gilmer, Lyndell Mac Langston of College Station, Texas, and Virgil McNatt of Florida; one stepdaughter, Cathron Cockrell of Coleman, Texas; two brothers, Jim Bright of Sutton and Duncan Bright of Indiana; and a sister, Ruby Grimes of Texarkana, Ark. Grimmett Field, 79, of Arkadelphia died Friday, March 22, at the Pineview Nursing Home in Gurdon. She was born August 4, 1916, in Prescott. She was the daughter of R.R. and Zula Boyd Grimmett. She was a retired retail clerk for Thrifty Drug Store in Long Beach, Calif., and a Christian. She was the widow of Louis Field. Survivors include a son, Donald T. Atkins of Arkadelphia; two brothers, Henry E. Grimmett of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Col. (ret.) Charles M. Milam of North Little Rock; and three grandchildren. Davis of Emmet; three sisters, Marie Loe of Hope, Christine Otwell of Texarkana, Texas, and Jean Clem of Tuscon, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Born September 3, 1935, in Sutton, he was a retired employee of the Roach Paper Company of Little Rock and he was a protestant. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Stark. Survivors include his wife, Kay Stark of Prescott; one son, Jonathan Stark of Maumelle; one daughter, Kimberly Gordon of Prescott; two brothers, James Stark of Prescott and Ken Stark of Little Rock; his mother, Georgia Stark of Prescott; and two grandchildren. Burial was under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott. __________ Nellie Clark Nellie Moore Clark, 88, of Little Rock, formerly of Prescott, died Tuesday, March 26, 1996, in Little Rock. Born November 5, 1907, in Prescott, she was a graduate of Henderson State University and was an elementary school teacher for 42 years, mainly in Nevada nad Hempstead Counties. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Gamma, the Iris Garden Club and was an active hospital volunteer and member of the Hope Church of Christ, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Survivors include her husband, Ardell Clark of Little Rock; two daughters, Sue Bolls of Belgrade, Mont., and Margie Wood of North Little Rock; one son, William D. Clark of Las Cruces, N.M.; one sister, Vivian Moore Gutensohn of Little Rock; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, March 30, at Hope Church of Christ with Tommy Mounts and John Cannon officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope. Memorials may be made to the Hope Church of Christ. __________ Thomas `Ted' Ragland Thomas `Ted' Ragland, of Denver, Colo., died Monday, March 22, 1996, in the Hope's Medical Park Hospital. He was the widower of Henrietta Ragland. Survivors include three daughters, Valarie Gulley of Prescott, Mabel Foreman of Prescott and Tomi Cannon of Fayettville, Tenn. Services were held Monday, April 1, at Olinger Mortuary Chapel in Denver. Burial was in Highland Cemetery in Denver under the direction of Olinger Mortuary. Born September 14, 1914, in Nevada County, she was a homemaker. Survivors include one sister, Maudie Volentine of Hope; and a number of nieces and nephews. Neal Ridling officiating. __________ Alton Armstrong Alton Armstrong, 91, of Prescott died Friday, March 29, 1996, at St. Michael Health Care Center in Texarkana, Texas. Born February 19, 1905, in Hempstead County, he was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Queen Smith Armstrong, and one son, Alton Armstrong Jr. Survivors include three sons, Everett Armstrong of Milwaukee, Wisc., Elvin Armstrong of Los Angeles, Calif., and David Willis Armstrong of Nashville; six daughters, Edith Maxine Foulks of Amarillo, Texas, Norma Woodberry of Flint, Mich., and Iola Armstrong, Anne Franks, Myrtle Jones and Wilma Faye Achan all of Hope; 42 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, April 4, at St. John Baptist Church, north of Hope with Rev. Raymond Cage officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. __________ Alfred E. Fudge Alfred E. Fudge, 78, of Gurdon, formerly of Prescott, died Sunday, March 24, 1996. Born September 4, 1917, in Prescott, he was the son of John and Grace Fudge. He worked for Warren Oil Company, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the widower of Elizabeth Fudge. Survivors include one granddaughter, Alisa Barrett of Texarkana, Texas; and one grandson, Nathan Fudge of Little Rock. Graveside services and burial were held Tuesday, March 26, in Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon with David Moseley officiating under the direction of Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon. __________ Nettie Pittman Nettie Anne Stivers Pittman, 92, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Prescott, died March 29, 1996, in a Mesa nursing home. Born April 21, 1903, in Dacatur, Ill., she was the daughter of Charles and Mary Stivers. She was a homemaker and helped her late husband, Allen Pittman, in the poultry industry. She later operated a greenhouse. She moved from Prescott in 1979 to Tucson, Ariz., to live with a daughter and later to Mesa, Ariz., to live with a son. Survivors include three sons, Richard Pittman and Dick Pittman, both of Chicago, Ill., and Kirby Allen of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Allene Hanson of Tucson, Ariz., and Nettie Mae Owens of Mesa, Ariz.; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Memorial services were held in Mesa, Ariz., on March 31 after which her body was cremated. Burial services will be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Prescott on Sunday, April 21, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. __________
